A fuel pumping apparatus for supplying fuel to an internal combustion engine includes an adjustable throttle movable against the action of resilient means by means responsive to the speed of operation of the associated engine to which fuel is being supplied. Movement of the throttle against the action of the resilient means reduces the rate of fuel supplied to the engine and temperature responsive means is provided to adjust the throttle to increase the rate of fuel supplied to the engine when the engine is cold.

(54) DEVICE FOR FEEDING FUEL

FIELD: engine building.
A device for supplying fuel to an internal combustion engine is known, comprising an injection pump, a booster pump for supplying fuel to the injection pump and a control throttle for measuring the supply of fuel to the cylinder and loaded on one side by the pressure of the priming pump, and on the other side by elastic means 1.
The disadvantage of this device is that its fuel supply does not depend on the temperature state of the engine.
The aim of the invention is to increase efficiency.
This goal is achieved by the fact that the proposed device is additionally equipped with a bimetallic temperature-sensitive element installed between the throttle and elastic means.
FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of the device; in fig. 2 is a partial section of the injection pump along an adjustable choke; in fig. 3 - an improved design version of loading chokes.
The device comprises an injection pump 1. A rotor 3 is installed in the pump casing 2 with plungers 4 and inlet 5 and discharge 6 channels, the last of which is connected to the nozzle 7. The inlet channel 5 of pump 1 is connected to the booster pump 8 via an adjustable throttle 9. Pump 8 equipped with a reducing relief valve 10. The choke 9 is installed in the cylinder 11 and loaded on one side with pressure from the boost pump 8, and on the other side with elastic means in the form of two springs 12 and 13. The device is additionally equipped with bimetallic senses tion temperature element 14 mounted between the inductor 9 and the elastic means. The spring 12 is connected to the control body 15 through the cup 16. The initial fixing of the cup 16 is carried out with the help of a nut 17. The spring 13 is adjusted to idle the engine through the adjusting screw 18. The control member 15 is provided with a finger 19 to act on the cup 16 .
The device works as follows.
Depending on the mode of operation of the engine, a certain tightening of the spring 12 is established by the control member 15. In this case, the spring 12 is loaded by turning the control member 15 by acting of its finger 19 on the cup 16. The pressure from the boost pump 8 causes the throttle 9 to move towards springs 12. When equilibrium occurs between the opposing forces from the spring 12 and the pressure of the boost pump 8, the throttle 9 occupies the position set by the control body 15, in which the injection pump 1 is required dimoe for this mode of operation the amount of fuel. To increase the engine speed, it is necessary to increase the compression of the spring 12 and, conversely, unclench the latter to reduce the fuel supply. At idle and at low engine temperatures, the bimetallic element 14 additionally loads the throttle 9 in the direction of the spring 12 and at the same position of the control element 15 under conditions of a low temperature state of the engine, the latter receives more fuel than under normal conditions work. The spring 13 serves to set the engine idling speed, which is controlled by changing its pre-tightening.
Thus, by additionally supplying the device with a bimetallic temperature-sensitive element, efficiency is increased.

A device for supplying fuel to an internal combustion engine, comprising an injection pump, a booster pump, for supplying fuel to the injection pump and an adjustable throttle for changing the fuel supply to the injection pump, mounted in the cylinder and loaded with pressure from the boost pump on one side, and on the other side Elastic means, THAT ;, in order to increase efficiency, the device is additionally equipped with a bimetallic temperature-sensitive element installed between throttle and resilient means.
